Coming from Manhattan, New York City, Alexandra graduated from Hamilton College in 2006 with a dual degree in history and French.

She finished her educational career at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications with a Master's Degree in journalism in 2007.

Starting at 7 News in January of that year, Alexandra has received two awards for her work, including a Syracuse Press Club Award and the outstanding spot news coverage for her work on the Academy Street apartment building fire from the Associated Press.

Traveling to Mississippi to cover volunteers building homes for Hurricane Katrina victims, Alexandra's interests in stories run a complete gauntlet, including a particular interest in local politics and government for the North Country.
