Candace Dunkley

Candace Jenice Dunkley joined 7 News in the beginning of November. Prior to joining the station  Candace attended Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she received a Master's degree in Broadcast Digital Journalism.

Candace says she will never forget her capstone project where she interned as a Washington DC based reporter for WFRV-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin. There she covered an array of stories including the Wisconsin Senate race, the farm bill re-authorization and had one on one interviews with retiring Senator Herb Kohl and current Senator (Congresswoman at the time) Tammy Baldwin.

Candace also had a great time producing and hosting her own online talk show while attending SU. Through her show “Her Story” Candace was able to interview and profile dynamic women in the Syracuse community.

Prior to Syracuse University, Candace received her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications from SUNY Oswego. She was extremely active in the school's student media organizations; serving as the Vice President of the National Broadcast Society (Oswego Chapter,) reporter and anchor for the college television station and was the first student panel member for the annual Dr. Lewis B. O'Donnell Media Summit.

Candace is proud to continue her journalism journey with 7 News.  When she isn't reporting, Candace loves to spend time with her family, friends, and boyfriend. She enjoys reading, writing poetry, traveling, trying new foods, dancing and watching her favorite shows: The Newsroom, Scandal, Private Practice and Once Upon a Time.
