Patrick Malowski is the anchor of 7 News This Weekend and reports during the week. He joined the news team in June 2014.
Patrick was born and raised just south of the North Country in Herkimer, where he found his love for everything video and television at a high school BOCES class.
From there, he was honored to receive a scholarship to Herkimer College, where he worked on his craft under the staff of the school's broadcasting professors. He got his Associate's degree from there in 2012. While at Herkimer, Patrick worked live sporting events and anchored for the college TV station, HCTV News.
He was also Program Director at the college's radio station WVHC, where he helped revive live student programming at the station.
He finished his degree up at SUNY Oswego, graduating in 2014. While at Oswego, Patrick spent most of his time at the school's three media outlets WTOP-10, WNYO 88.9 FM, and the Oswegonian newspaper.
Patrick was an on-air reporter and producer at the college's TV station, WTOP-10. He had a radio show where he discussed pop-punk and punk music, his other passion besides news. Patrick was the Multimedia Editor and a Staff Writer for the Oswegonian Newspaper, where he won multiple awards for his work.
During college, Patrick did anything he could to be involved in media. He interned and worked at multiple radio stations in Utica, primarily WUTQ 100.7 FM, and he spent a summer doing play-by-play for a local baseball team's webcasts. He also interned and freelanced for the ABC and FOX affiliate, WUTR/WFXV in Utica.
His last semester of college, he received a great opportunity to intern with the CBS TV station in Cleveland, OH, WOIO Cleveland 19 News. He spent the few months in Cleveland living with his Aunt Mary and Uncle Dan, who he owes so much for the start of his career.
When Patrick is not bring you the news, he's jamming out to music. He plays guitar and loves to sing, which he gets from his 2 brothers Brandon and Mike.
He's most proud of his band, Atticus Finch , which he's played in since high school.
