Rachel Spotts

Rachel Spotts joined 7 News in January 2013 as a general assignment reporter.

She came to us from Salt Lake City, Utah, where she graduated cum laude from the University of Utah with an Honors B.A. in Journalism.
Rachel was actively involved with the University's news program "Newsbreak."

During her time there she reported on an array of stories and conducted a one on one interview with the University's new president.

Rachel says she will never forget her honors thesis project. She created a documentary about the future of Social Security titled "Social Security: Politics vs. Principle."

She received grant funding for her research and was also awarded the B. Floyd Farr Scholarship for her journalistic achievements.

A portion of her TV news background comes from internships, including one at CNN in Atlanta and another at KCAL/KCBS in Los Angeles.

Rachel got her start in local news when she was a reporter and weekend producer at KCSG-TV in Southern Utah.

She attended President Obama's first inauguration as a reporter for KCSG-TV and was interviewed live after the swearing-in ceremonies.

When she isn't reporting, Rachel loves to workout, travel, spend time with family and friends, and stay up to speed on what's happening in the community and around the world.

She is always up to try new things and is excited for the adventures that await her in the North Country.

Rachel would love to hear from you.
