Event Description

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 30th. The Keith Brabant Music Scholarship Festival will hold its third annual fundraiser at the Coyote Moon Vineyards on East Line Road in Clayton. The event will honor Clayton-native, Keith Brabant, who passed away in 2010. The cost of attendance is only $5, which will include admission to see some of the best musical acts from our area, family-friendly activities and craft and food vendors.
Money raised from this event will go towards a music scholarship that was created in Keith’s honor. The scholarship is awarded annually to students residing in Jefferson County who are looking to further their education in musical pursuits. The very first scholarship recipients were awarded last year, and applications are currently being accepted at www.keithbrabantmusicscholarshipfestival.org. The scholarship was established with help from the Thousand Islands Foundation.
Guests can look forward to several different musical performers from all walks of life. This will be quite a blend of musical types, something Keith would have loved. There will also be great family activities like a bouncing play castle provided by Amazing Occasions in Clayton. The Thompson Park Zoo will be at the festival from 10 am until 2 pm with exhibits and animals for children to learn about and pet. Mark Mason will perform children’s songs
The craft vendors will include companies like Flora Grows, who make beautiful pressed flowers on lampshades, in frames and more. Down By the River Crafts will share their unique handmade jewelry and wood-burning on paddles and signs. Hand Candy Mittens will showcase handmade mittens, scarves and hats from recycled materials. Coles Candles will have scented, hand-poured soy, paraffin, and beeswax candles. Better Farm will be selling artwork, photography and paintings.
There will also be delicious food and drinks to enjoy, children’s activities and games, raffles and auctions from several generous local companies and organizations. The silent auction will be bigger and better than ever before thanks to the generosity of local donors, this is one that you won’t want to miss! The scholarship committee is always looking for more donors; please go to the website listed below to get in touch with the head of our silent auction if you’d like to donate.
Please join us during the last weekend of June; this is a fantastic cause in honor of an even more fantastic human being. Please go to www.keithbrabantmusicscholarshipfestival.org for more information.
