This coming Saturday the Hopkinton Ft. Jackson Fire Department will be opening their doors in support of Recruit NY. We will be having the county fire safety trailer on location in order to show fire safety for kids. We will also have a representative at our station from the county sheriffs department making ID tags for children. We will have gear available to try on so you know what it is like to be a firefighter. Also we will have applications for those 16 years of age and older that would be interested in serving their community in the Fire Department. For those of you that do not want to go inside a burning house we do have positions available for you as well, we need drivers, pump operators, fire police, and general scene support firefighters. There are lots of things that are being done now to bring in membership, there are tax reductions on income tax, FREE training to become a member, and ideas are around now of free tuition to local community colleges. So if you are in the Hopkinton area this coming Saturday, April 21st between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm please stop in to the fire station located at 2876 State Highway 11B, Hopkinton, NY for a free hot dog and beverage.
