On May 5, 2012 the Community Action Planning Council’s Jefferson-Lewis Childcare Project will be holding its 21st Annual Bright Beginnings Child Care Conference. This year’s conference will be held at CAPC on Davidson Street in Watertown. Experts in the field of child development will be presenting workshops on topics such brain development, challenging behavior, health and nutrition, literacy, creative arts and more! Cost is $45 for JLCP members and $50 for non-members. Lunch is included in the cost.

In addition to JLCP staff, this year’s presenters represent ADHD Educational Services, Caboodles Early Childhood Center, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Early Childhood Direction Center, EmpowerEd, Infant/Toddler Network, Northern Regional Center for Independent Living, Public Health, the Watertown Family YMCA and WBPS. Other community agencies will display information and share resources as well.

This event is an opportunity for the child care providers in our community to receive professional development, network, and exchange ideas. Bright Beginnings is open to the public and anyone who is interested in learning more about young children and child care is welcome to attend.
