Event Description

On Friday, May 18th from 3pm-6pm Next Stop! Tupper Lake will welcome The Adirondack Scenic Railroad train as it makes it way back to the Tupper Lake Train Depot from it's winter vacation in Utica. This special event continues to kick off the efforts to restore the rail line between Tuper Lake & Saranac Lake, which will pave the way for restored rail service between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid.

The highlight of this event will be a press conference which will highlight several very important announcements by Next Stop Tupper Lake, Garry Douglas from the North Country Chamber of Commerce and Kate Fish from the Adirondack North Country Association on the future of the railroad. Bill Branson, Chairman of the Adirondack Scenic RR will be on hand.

We've created an afternoon with activities to entertain the kids which include a train themed scavenger hunt, coloring contest, opportunity to watch the train arrive and then to explore the locomotive, blow the whistle and catch a bite to eat. This event is FREE of charge!
