Event Description

2012 Tupper Lake 9 Miler
Saturday, June 16 at 11:00 AM

The Adirondack Watershed Alliance will host the Tupper Lake 9 Mile canoe, kayak and guideboat races. The event will start and finish at the Tupper Lake Rod and Gun Club. There will be a 5 mile open touring and a 9 mile NYMCRA classes race. The course will still be paddler friendly, with no carries and a circular course across Simond Pond to the cut to the Raquette River where paddlers will head up stream around the oxbow, counterclockwise, then heading down stream past the cut off and around to the Route 30 bridge where they will turn to the left back to the Rod and Gun Club.

The AWA appreciates the cooperation of the Tupper Lake Rod and Gun Club in hosting the event. Sponsors include Byrne Dairy, Wenonah Canoes and MAC’S Canoe Livery.

Volunteers and paddlers are always welcome. For more information contact AWA Canoe Race Hotline at 518 – 891 – 2744 or grace@macscanoe.com.

Entry fees are $25 per paddler, $20 for AWA members.
