Event Description

Time for Community Christmas Caroling

On Friday, December 21 you are invited to gather at any one of three starting points at 6:00 PM: St. Mary’s Cathedral, Notre Dame or First United Methodist Church. We are scheduled to leave the churches about 6:15 so we can arrive together at Library Park.

We will leave from these places, caroling along the way, growing in size as we go. We will converge in front of First Presbyterian Church and make our way to Library Park by about 7:00 PM. There we will sing a couple more carols together, have a word of prayer for our city and for peace on earth, then conclude with hot cocoa provided on the premises by the Salvation Army!

You can choose the starting place, or you can choose to wait for us to come along. You may also just meet us at the Presbyterian church, our rally point, before going on to Library Park. If walking is particularly difficult, you can meet us at Library Park at 7 PM.

Some of our city’s churches are quite a distance away. You may wish to gather at one of the three starting points. For example, Grace Covenant might join with those at Notre Dame. Grace Baptist and Assembly of God may wish to start at St. Mary’s. The Wesleyan Church folks might want to gather with us in front of First United Methodist Church.

You are encouraged to sing loud and long! Please make sure you have someone lined up to lead off the Carols as you go!
