The Children's Home of Jefferson County proudly presents a free presentation by renowned child trauma expert, Arthur Becker-Weidman, Ph.D.

Monday, January 7, 2013

1220 Coffeen Street, Watertown

Dr. Becker-Weidman's presentation will describe the pervasive and dramatic effects of chronic early maltreatment on child development and its implications for effective parenting. Parents and professionals will learn about some of the principles of therapeutic parenting skills used to assist in healing these hurt children.

An adoptive parent of a 14-year old boy, Dr. Becker-Weidman is an internationally acclaimed speaker and workshop leader. He has been treating the families of adoptive and foster children for more than two decades. He consults with therapists and organizations both throughout the United States and internationally. His Centers for Family Development in Western New York and New York City provide evaluation and treatment for families with adopted and foster children.

There is no charge for this event but seating is limited.
