The proceeds of this annual event helps to fund training and support for Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers, so that we may continue serving abused and neglected children in our community and helping them to establish safe, permanent homes as quickly as is legally possible. The more volunteers we have, the more children and families we are able to help. For the dinner a variety of pasta dishes will be served family style, along with tossed salad, Italian bread, cookies, and beverages. A great variety of items from local businesses and patrons have been donated for the Silent Auction. Please consider attending and we appreciate your support.
The CASA program provides specially trained community volunteers who are appointed by the Jefferson County Family Court Judge to work with, and advocate for, neglected and abused children. These volunteers develop relationships with their assigned children, observe their living and learning situation, and work with health care, education, and social service professionals, to ascertain and to advocate for necessary services and support. Due to the number of cases before the court and the extreme workload of the social service professionals, the CASA volunteers perform a unique and invaluable service in providing information to the court and ensuring the development and protection of these vulnerable children.
