“Transmission: Design on Machine” Featured at Arts on the Square

Opening on Friday, May 10, 6-9pm, at Arts on the Square, is “Transmission: Design on Machine”. This exhibit brings together three artists in three different media, to collaborate on the theme. They are Chris Miller, metal sculptor, Kari Robertson, clay artist, and Mary Ellen Shevalier, painter.

Chris Miller’s work, moving metal sculpture, is on permanent display in many north country locations, as well as abroad, including the library of the St. Lawrence University, the North Country Children’s Clinic, and the Foster Atrium of Samaritan Medical Center. Kari Robertson is a former art educator and clay artist working from her studio, Mudpi Pottery, in Rutland Center. She is the former president of the North Country Arts Council. Mary Ellen Kalil Shevalier is an educational consultant whose work as a muralist and custom designer of monuments can be found in the CNY and Northern NY area. Kalil Shevalier has promoted Arts education at the local, national and international level and is co-author of : World Class, The Re-Education of America (2011).

The public is invited to view the work and talk to the artists. Light food and drinks are provided and the event is free. Music is by acoustic guitarist, John Zelson. Mr. Zelson is a musician whose music/physics degree is from Ball State University, currently serving as technology advisor for Americorp.
