Event Description

Many older adults want to remain independent for as long as they can. But as a person grows older, keeping up a home and self care become more difficult. However, with planning and a few adjustments many people can stay independent and safe in their own home.

The Alzheimer’s Association and The Office for the Aging would like to invite you to join us to celebrate May as Older American’s month. We will be hosting a Safety Expo on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salmon Run Mall. The purpose of the Safety Expo is to raise awareness of available programs and services in Jefferson County that provide safety resources to the elderly and their caregivers.

The following agencies will be represented:

Office for the Aging and NY Connects
Alzheimer’s Association
Public Health Services
NYS Office of the Attorney General
Community Action Planning Council

Plus, many more!

For more information, please contact Sheila Kehoe, Office for the Aging at 785-3191.
