“Success is touching one person’s life today – improving it for tomorrow”
To Members of the Sackets Harbor and Surrounding Community:
The North Country Coalition for Parkinson’s & Movement Disorders cordially invites you to a very special event. A seminar, featuring Dr. Michael Hopkins, Surgical Neurophysiologist, will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Andrews Parish Center in Sackets Harbor.
Parkinson’s Disease affects about 1.5 million people in the United States, including several in our local community, with approximately 20,000 new patients diagnosed each year. Although not completely curable, treatment of symptoms has been advanced to better allow patients to lead productive lives.
Dr. Hopkins’ presentation will cover background information on Parkinson’s, various treatment options, and surgical intervention. He will discuss research studies related to the role of exercise as a therapeutic or preventative measure against Parkinson’s.
We look forward to seeing you on April 20th. Please feel free to contact Norm Hunneyman at 646-3446 if you have any questions about the seminar or the activities of the Coalition.
