U.S. Army Sergeant Rick Yarosh to Give Presentation on Overcoming Adversity at JCC on April 24Return to event list.
Jefferson Community College (JCC) Continuing Education Division and VISTA Veteran’s Coordinator will host a presentation on overcoming adversity by Iraq War veteran Sergeant (Sgt.) Rick Yarosh on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. in Room 6-002, (Jules Center Amphitheater). Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
Iraq War veteran, Sgt. Rick Yarosh, will speak about his journey to overcome adversity and turn a negative situation into a positive outcome. Sgt. Yarosh was deployed to Iraq in December 2005 where he spent nine months before being severely injured by an IED (improvised explosive device). Over 60% of his body was burned with 2nd and 3rd degree burns; his right leg was amputated below the knee; and he lost both of his ears, his nose, multiple fingers and most of the function in both of his hands. Yet, years later, he shares a positive message about overcoming adversity.
