Lace Your Sneakers to Walk to Prevent Suicide at JCC

Jefferson Community College (JCC) Health and Wellness Center will host an Out of the Darkness 3-mile walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention on Sunday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. The public is invited to participate.Return to event list.
Walkers may pre-register by April 19 or sign up the day of the event at 9:00 a.m. in the JCC McVean gymnasium lobby.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), formed in 1987, supports research of prominent scientists and young investigators whose objective is to enhance understanding and prevention of suicide. Scientific research oftentimes sheds light on why a person commits suicide, treatment, intervention and prevention, and the impact of suicide on family members, communities and societies. Over the past eleven years, AFSP has awarded more than $20 million dollars in grants.
