Cape Vincent will be celebrating its French Heritage with the La Fete Française beginning on Friday, July 12th with a Free Family block dance in front of the Cape Vincent Fire Hall on Broadway St. at 7:30 pm.Return to event list.
On Saturday July 13th St. John’s Episcopal Church begins the day with a pancake breakfast in the parish center at the church on Market Street. They will be serving starting at 7:00 am until 11:00 am.
Beginning at 8:00 am the French Festival Committee and TI Booster Club will be selling French bread and French Pastries at the Fire Hall on Broadway Street.
All crafts and exhibits open for the day at 9:00 am on Saturday.
There will be a children’s program from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm and then after the parade on Saturday featuring the Catskill Puppets.
The official opening of The French Festival is at 11:00 am at the reviewing stand on Broadway. Welcome is given by Mayor, Timothy Maloney and the Town Supervisor, Urban Hirschey.
The crowning of French Festival Queen will be at this time as well as the presentation of the Queen’s Court. Finishing the opening ceremony will be a proclamation by the French Festival Queen.
The parade begins at 2:00 pm with Napoleon leading the way.
St. Vincent of Paul’s Church on Kanady Street will be holding a Festival Mass that will be spoken in French at 5:00 pm.
A gala fireworks display will begin at dusk, around 9:30 pm.
Sunday, July 14th the arts and crafts show and sale will be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
There will be also be an antique car parade at 1:00 pm.
