The Local Living Venture (LLV) workshop entitled "Garden & Home Food-Waste Composting Made Simple" has been scheduled for Saturday, July 13th at the home of volunteer workshop presenter Janet Lomastro in Potsdam, NY.Return to event list.
The event will take place by reservation only from 10 a.m. to noon. This is one of the most popular workshops offered by the LLV, sharing the secrets to creating a simple, working compost pile.
The workshop gives a very clear understanding of how to run the simplest, high-performing compost pile with the least amount of effort involved. Creating a working compost pile with a yield of rich black soil at the end of their efforts can be an absolute mystery or, worse yet, a frustration that leads to abandoning the pile altogether. This workshop is designed to help solve the problems faced by many would-be composting households.
This is a hands-on workshop that allows adults the chance to "play in the dirt" once again, so plan to bring your gloves, hat, and drinking water. A tour of Janet's perennial garden landscape is included, showing the uses of home-made compost for edibles, ornamentals and traditional medicinal plants in the home garden.
It is recommended to reserve early; attendance is limited to 12 and a reservation is necessary to receive the exact workshop location. There will be a "wait list" for cancellations once the workshop fills up.
