The showcase of the War of 1812 Bicentennial Celebration is a re-enactor encampment, featuring soldiers from both sides of the war, setting up tents and living the life of an 1812 soldier. There will be representatives of both US and British soldiers, with the majority of our re-enactors hailing from the Ogdensburg based Forsyth's Rifles. The encampment is on the Village Green and will be open to public viewing, and will inform the public of the everyday life of the 1812 soldier, with camp life, weapons displays, surgical tent, drills and more. The re-enactors will perform a battle skirmish recreation, scheduled for 1:30 pm on Saturday.Return to event list.
Events include a lecture series saturday and Sunday, a walking tour, tall ships, towpath volunteer fife & drum groups, Friday evening sunset cruise, music, dancing, and more..
