The staff and students at the Bohlen Technical Center, invite you to attend our annual fall Open House on Wednesday, November 20th, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Tour our state of the art facility and see all the educational and training opportunities we have to offer to high school students and adults. You will discover many of the area's best kept secrets!!Return to event list.
There will be door prizes (2 Adirondack chairs produced by the Building Maintenance program)! We look forward to seeing you!!
Additional highlights of the evening:
Haun Welding will be demonstrating the VRTEX Welding Training Simulator throughout the day (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM)in the WELDING program. This is a virtual welding trainer.
The Computer-Aided Drafting & Design Program will feature:
o 3D Printer Display – used for prototyping
o Play a game of chess with chess pieces “hot off the 3D
o Design a virtual bridge that will hold up to the “truck test”
The Heavy Equipment will provide:
o Commercial Driver’s License Driving Simulator Demonstration
o Biofuel exhibit
o Interested in woodworking? Tour the shop to see the finest
tools used and products made by students
o Classroom drawing for 2 Adirondack chairs to be given away
o Child fingerprinting by Officer Kristin Fuhrman (Watertown
Police Department) will be available
Life Skills Program
o Tour this program to learn how special needs students are
being prepared for productive and satisfying careers for
o Discover how the community based training program prepares
many adolescents for meaningful employment
o There will be information table displays about this national
nonprofit organization serving students who are preparing for
careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations,
including health occupations.
o Free samples of local products – products will be available
for ordering from Lowville Producers Dairy Cooperative to
support SkillsUSA (fundraising event)
