The Great American Smokeout is 38 years old, but tobacco use is still the leading cause of preventable disease and death, killing more than 25,000 New Yorkers every year. Quitting smoking is the single most important step someone can take to reduce his/her risk of cancer.Return to event list.
On November 21st, 2013 Carthage Area Hospital will host a Great American Smokeout Event which will include on-site assistance for tobacco users who wish to quit. Area youth will be present to discuss how Big Tobacco manipulates smokers and targets youth and individuals. They’ll also share personal stories related to tobacco.

WHEN: Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:00PM (From 12pm-2:30pm, a representative will be outside of the Carthage Area Hospital cafeteria to reach out to employees.)
