Event Description

Literacy of Northern New York is conducting a tutor training course to train volunteers to work one-to-one with adults who need help with reading, writing or English as a Second Language (ESL). All volunteers take the orientation and successful tutoring courses. Those who want to teach reading also take Reading 1 and 2. People who want to teach ESL must attend ESL 1 and 2.
All classes are from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the third floor conference room of Key Bank, 200 Washington St., Watertown. There is a $25 textbook fee. Registration is required by calling Literacy of Northern NY: 782-4270.
Next training starts in March. You can take the Reading, ESL or both modules.
Monday March 10, 4:30 – 7:30 pm Orientation
Thursday March 13, 4:30 – 7:30 pm ESL 1
Monday March 17, 4:30 – 7:30 pm ESL 2
Thursday March 20, 4:30 – 7:30 pm Reading 1
Monday March 24, 4:30 – 7:30 pm Reading 2
Thursday March 27, 4:30 – 7:30 pm Successful Tutoring
