WHAT: United Hatzalah is Israel’s world-renowned and largest non-profit volunteer emergency response organization. Volunteers use GPS smart phone technology and “ambucycles,” or motor scooters equipped with life-saving medical equipment, to race to emergency events. The group’s average response time is under three minutes. Traditional ambulance squads take six – ten minutes. The United Hatzalah volunteers stabilize victims and await support. All work free-of-charge. United Hatzalah's service is available to all people without regard to race, religion or national origin. In 2013, Hatzalah treated over 250,000 people --- 47,000 with life-threatening injuries. United Hatzalah is working to bring its revolutionary live-saving model to the U.S.
