Waddington - Judith M. Kocher, 71, of LaGrasse Street, Waddington passed away on October 8, 2013 at Claxton-Hepburn Hospital surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born on January 2, 1942 in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of William J. and Helen V. (Ferguson) LaFlair. She attended Madrid-Waddington Schools. On November 25, 1963 she married Warren Kocher.

She volunteered at Madrid-Waddington Elementary School for many years. She was a member of the Waddington Methodist Church where she also volunteered. She liked to tend to her flower garden, take walks and read murder mysteries.

Judith is survived by her husband of 49 years, Warren of Waddington; a son, Scott  Kocher and fiancé Tammy Rogers and a daughter,  Ann Kocher of Norwood; grandchildren Anthony Kocher-Morrill,  Jeremy Kocher, Casey Morrill, Nicholas Rogers, Lauren Morrill; great grandchildren Jase Kocher and Cole Haggadone; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, William LaFlair, and two sisters, Evelyn Drew and Doris McPherson.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, 20 Clinton St. Waddington. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Waddington Methodist Church with Rev. David Piatt presiding.

Interment will be held in the New Brookside Cemetery, Waddington.
