Lowville -  Marilyn J. Lee, 65, of Railroad Street, Lowville, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died unexpectedly Friday evening, July 5, 2013 at her home.

Marilyn was born on March 1, 1948 in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy Brouty Halladay and attended Lowville Academy.

On March 26, 1966, she married Loren R. Lee at the First Presbyterian Church in Lowville. She raised her family and provided day care in her home for over ten years. She was a homemaker.

She and her husband were well-known for their clam chowder, which was sold at the New Bremen Field Days. She was a member of the New Bremen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for the past 17 years. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of over 47 years, Loren; four children and their spouses, Robbin and Patrick Brown of Lowville, Michael and Kristine Lee of Central Square, Kelly and Douglas O’Connor of Carthage, Kenneth and Bethany Lee of Lowville; four brothers and their wives, Bernard “Bud” and Joyce Halladay of Lowville, Charles and Joyce Halladay, of Lowville, Burt and Sandy Halladay of Martinsburg, Keith and Betty Halladay of Carthage; a sister, Patricia Hulbert of Lowville; a step-brother, James and Renee Hulbert of Greig; a brother-in-law, Donald Widrick of Castorland; 11 grandchildren; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by a son, Loren R. Lee, Jr.; a sister, Jacqueline Widrick and a step-brother, William Hulbert.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Beaches Bridge Cemetery, Watson. There are no calling hours.
