Alice Sykes Dasno, 85, Fairview Street, widow of Earl John Sykes and Richard L. Dasno, Sr., passed away Thursday, January 23 at Samaritan Keep Home, where she had been a resident since January 6.

The funeral will be 1 pm Tuesday, January 28 at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

Calling hours are Monday, January 27 from 4 pm - 7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Watertown VFW Ladies Auxillary.

Alice was born in Watertown March 23, 1928, a daughter to Joseph and Ada Ellison Boileau. She worked at the Calavo Date Factory in Sackets Harbor during the 1960s. Alice was predeceased by her first husband, Earl John Sykes, in 1984 and her second husband, Richard L. Dasno Sr., in 2008.

She was a member of the Watertown VFW Ladies Auxillary and the Sackets American Legion Auxillary.

She is survived by her children Earl J. Sykes, Jr., Vickie (Claude) Giles, and Chris A. Sykes, all of Watertown, Patricia (Timothy) Farrell, Evans Mills and Mark J. Sykes, Watertown; her step children, Roswell (Sherry) Dasno, Gouverneur, Michele (Angelo) Augustine, Watertown, Catherine Dasno and Melissa (Dale) Burr, all of North Carolina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Besides her husbands, Alice was predeceased by two sons, Frederick E. and Raymond A. Sykes; a daughter, Debra L. Fain; a step-son Richard L. Dasno, Jr.; a grandson, Shawn C. Sykes and a brother, Albert Boileau.
