Mrs. Beatrice E. Deer Jacobs, 100, formerly of 126 St. Regis Road, peacefully passed away Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2013 at Iakhihsohtha Lodge, with her loving family by her side. She had been residing at Iakhihsohtha Lodge since 2002.
Beatrice was born June 23, 1912 in Hogansburg, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Barnhart Deer. She attended Mohawk schools. On June 26, 1929, she married Louis Daniel Jacobs at St. Regis Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Bourget, officiating. Mr. Jacobs predeceased her on September 1, 1993.

Beatrice was well known for her public speaking, community affairs at school, and her skills as a seamstress, having made the Altar and Rosary Banner and the funeral pall used at the church. She enjoyed traveling, singing, and loved listening to music.
Beatrice is survived by her seven children, Delores Thompson of Hogansburg; Louis Jr. and Bettie Jacobs of Hogansburg; Darlene and Peter Sunday of Snye; Dale Bintz of Massena; David Jacobs and his companion, Anne-Marie Fitzrandolph of Hogansburg; Daniel and Debra Jacobs of Hogansburg; and Denis Jacobs of Hogansburg; 32 grandchildren; countless great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
