Carolyn J. Ferguson, 78, Summit Village, formerly of Franklin Street,  passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Samaritan Medical Center.

Mrs. Ferguson was born November 6, 1934 in Rochester, NY a daughter of Carl and Edith Foote Kadow. On June 20, 1954 she married Howard Ferguson at the Church of the Redeemer with Reverend Denny officiating. The couple divorced in 1999.

For thirty eight years she was employed with the Jefferson-Lewis County BOCES, retiring in 2000. Mrs. Ferguson began at BOCES as a library assistant and then became a teacher assistant. She was active in the local and district PTA, the Girl Scouts of America and was a day camp counselor.

Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the women’s group at the Church of the Redeemer and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Democratic Party. Currently she was an active member of Grace Community Church in Adams Center.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband; Alayne and Steven Getze, Penfield, NY and a son and his wife Allen and Linda Ferguson, Homer, NY, three grandchildren, her dear friends Midge Watson and Elizabeth Collette and their families.

Mrs. Ferguson was grateful for her extended family at the Olympic Apartments, Summit Village and Grace Community Church.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 10:30 am at Samaritan Summit Village community room with Reverend Kyle Widrick officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc.
