Joan enjoyed baking, cooking for her grandchildren, having Friday and/or Saturday pizza parties with her family, and was an avid Earnhardt Racing fan.

She also was an avid reader and loved feeding the wildlife on the front porch of her home.  Joan also cherished the many friendships she forged throughout her life and the time she spent with each of her friends.

Joan is survived by her seven children, Gerald Deon of Potsdam; Carolyn and Steve LeBire of Massena; Michael and Marilyn Deon of Potsdam; Steve and Judy Deon of Potsdam; Lori and Kim Sprague of Potsdam; Mary and Dan Boyer of Norwood; and Shawn and Karen Deon of Canajoharie; 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and her sister, Martha Frederick of Potsdam.
