A prayer service for Charleen Ann Davis will be 1pm Friday April 13th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by a 1:30 pm funeral mass at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor officiating.  Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. 

Calling hours are Thursday April 12th from 6 pm - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis, 79, passed away Tuesday at Mercy of Northern New York.

She was born in Watertown, March 11, 1933, a daughter to Merton and Alyce Jackson Garbutt.  She graduated from Watertown High School in 1950 and the House of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1953.  Charleen was a registered nurse at the former House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, now Samaritan Medical Center, from 1952-1955. 

She later was the school nurse at Pulaski High School, charge nurse at the Samaritan Keep Home from 1972-1981 and a geriatric ward nurse at the VA hospital in Seminole, FL.  She returned to the north country and was a nursing supervisor at Mercy Care Center from 1988-1991.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Cathy (David) Lawrence, Corinth, TX; Etta Johnson, Boston, MA.  Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel (Patricia) Davis, Watertown; David Davis, Jacksonville, FL.  Her grandchildren Robert and Kougar Ashpole, Dover AFB, Samuel and Julia Ashpole, Fairfax, VA, Kellyn and Nathan Fields, Corinth, TX, Bryan Davis, Watertown, Phillip Davis and Brianna Figurel, Butler, PA, Jasmine Davis, Watertown.  Two great grandchildren, Lyla Ashpole and William Fields.  Her brothers and a sister-in-law Gerald and Doris Bretsch, John Troubetaris, Mark Okun, William and Charles Garbutt.  A sister-in-law, Linda Friedrich. Many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Howard Bretsch, Jim and Tim Garbutt, and a sister Sybil Hodge.
