Clarence J. Forbes, 67, of DeKalb JunctionClarence J. Forbes, 67, of DeKalb Junction, died, November 30, 2012, at his home. Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, is entrusted with arrangements. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012, 2- 4, and 7-9 PM, and the funeral service will be December 8, 2012, 1:00PM, Reverend William Scott officiating at the funeral home. Burial will be in East DeKalb Cemetery. Clarence is survived by his daughter Sharon and husband Thomas Raynor, Gore, Virginia, sons, William and wife Susan Gammer Forbes, of DeKalb Junction, Richard J. Forbes, Syracuse, eight grandchildren, R.J. Forbes, Josh Forbes, Will Forbes, Justin Forbes, Amanda Forbes, Tiffany Forbes, Brittany Forbes and Thomas Raynor, 11 great grandchildren, sisters, Carol Taylor, Canastota, Virginia Halladay, Canastota, Alice and her husband Jim Kench, Florida, Jenny Billings, Shirley and her husband Cliff Perrin, Canada, Betty Craig, Canada, and Olive Cook, Russell, several nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Charles and Bill Forbes and a sister, Louise Forbes. Clarence was born on May 25, 1945 in Ogdensburg, the son of Nelson Charles and Bernice Regina Durham Forbes. He married Valery B. Bishop, on October 17, 1966 at the Russell Pilgrim Holiness Church, the Reverend Case officiating, Valery died on July 12, 2004. Clarence was a self employed small commercial hauler and previous to that he worked for St. Lawrence NYSARC as a mechanic and driver. He was a member of the DeKalb Junction Volunteer Fire Department and held the position of Second Assistant Chief in the past, he was also a member of the St. Lawrence County Fire Police, Sons of Amvets Post 11, Canton VFW, and was Honorary Fireman of the Year in 1993. He loved to drive around and enjoy the scenery and dancing. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the DeKalb Junction Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 290, DeKalb Junction, New York 13630.
