David E. Bockus Sr., 72, of Sackets HarborSackets Harbor - David E. Bockus Sr., age 72 of Sackets Harbor passed away at his home July 4th under the care of his family and Hospice. David was born March 5, 1940 in Sackets Harbor to Isabelle Krautwurst and attended Sackets Harbor High School. He married Margaret A. Bishop on April 6, 1962 in Copenhagen. David worked at N.Y. Air Brake in the foundry for several years and later in maintenance. He retired and worked at Lakeside Cemetery as caretaker for several years. David enjoyed family vacations and his N.Y. Yankees. He is survived by his wife Margaret, three children Philip and Colleen Getman of Lafargeville, Brenda Bockus of Sackets Harbor and David Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia. Grandchildren Jennifer McCormick and husband Chris, Andrew Getman and wife Krissy, Colton Belcher and Caitlyn Belcher. He has four great grandchildren and a sister Jeanne Hubbard of E. Syracuse also surviving. Funeral service will be Sunday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Matt Jessman his nephew and assistant pastor of Smithville Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County 1398 Gotham St. Watertown, N.Y. 13601 or the American Cancer Society. |
