David E. Kennedy, 70 of MassenaMr. David ”Shine” Kennedy, 70, of 585 South Main Street, passed away early Saturday morning at his home, where he was under the loving care of his son and daughter-in-law and Hospice. Shine was born January 31, 1943 in Potsdam, the son of the late Roy and Muriel Root Kennedy and was a graduate of Potsdam High School. While in high school, he played hockey having been the first team to play in Canada. Shine was a laborer working for various companies. Most recently he was a professional painter with Baker Painting in Potsdam. He truly enjoyed socializing with his friends and traveling. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Terri Kennedy of Massena; 4 grandchildren, Tia, Tyler, Savanna, and Myliah; his sister, Nancy and Smith Warren of Colton; and many nieces and nephews. Shine was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sue Ann Grant on March 6, 2013. Services will be held at a later date at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
