Lowville -  Dorris A. Lehosky, 86, of Lowville, N.Y. died peacefully April 24, 2013.

Dorris was born in Lowville, daughter of Edwin and Pearl Austin Brown.

She was a 1940 graduate of LACS, received a Nursing Assistant Certificate in June 1974, earned a Homemaker, Home Health Aide, and Personal Health Aide Certificate in May 1991 and was a full time Kraft employee.

Julius and Dorris were joined in marriage January 6, 1945, at the United Methodist Church, Lowville, N.Y.

First and foremost Dorris was a loving wife and mother of Patricia Lehosky Bullington of FL, Judy Lehosky of CT, grandmother of Jed Hatcher, Virginia Beach, VA, Joslin Davis, of NC and Denay Latz, CT. She also leaves many nieces, nephew and cousins.

Dorris is predeceased by brothers Albert and Gerald Brown; sisters Anna Miner, Beulah Hoch, Elva Maciejko, twin Dora Belnap and Barbara Pleskach.

Dorris will be remembered for her warmth and compassion for all.  She was active in her community. An Ombudsman volunteer at the Office For the Aging, 15 years, member of the Lowville Senior Citizens Club, Hospice volunteer, lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Lowville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Beth O’Neil, Pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewis County Office of the Aging.
