Edith F. Davis, 87, formerly of Riverside Drive, Clayton, died January 8, 2013 at Samaritan Keep Home where she had resided for 4 1/2 years.

A mass and burial will be in April at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Mrs. Davis was born in Clayton on February 24, 1925, daughter of Frank and Alice Steele LaRue, and she attended St. Mary's School.

She married Robert J. Davis on January 15, 1942 in the rectory of St. Mary's Church, and he died September 20, 1978.

She began her career at Graphic Controls, Clayton in 1948 and retired in 1986 as a supervisor. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and American Legion Colon-Couch Post 61 Auxiliary.

Edith is survived by her sister and her husband, Pauline I. and Francis L. Aubertine, Massena, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her husband, Robert, she was predeceased by six sisters, Edna LaRue, Gertrude Bennett, Henrietta R. Makeley, Doris M. LaRue, Eleanor M. Ireland, and Frances A. LaBreck.
