Adams - Elizabeth H. Marti, 100, formerly of Adams, passed away Thursday evening, January 24, 2013 in the Skilled Nursing Unit of Carthage Area Hospital. Prior to entering the nursing unit, she lived four and a half happy years at Maple Manor Home for Adults in Pulaski.                                

Her funeral service will be held in the spring, with burial following in the East Rodman Cemetery.  There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. 

Born April 10, 1912 in East Rodman, daughter of Myron J. and Emma Savage Brooks, she graduated from Watertown High School in 1930.  She attended teachers training classes in Dexter and taught school for a time.  

She married Homer Hobbs on June 25, 1933.  The couple farmed in Rutland.  Mr. Hobbs died December 10, 1973.  Mrs. Hobbs moved to Adams in 1974.

She married Fred Marti on June 11, 1977.  Mr. Marti died in October 22, 1994.

Mrs. Marti is survived by three daughters, Mary and James Wetterhahn, Watertown;  Shirley Hobbs, Cortland; Beverly and John Ryan, Canastota; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a stepson, James and Sharon Marti, Denmark; a step daughter, Jean and Norman Yerdon, Lorraine; several step grandchildren, one sister, Pearl Smith, Albany; one son in law, Dathan Kerber, Geneseo, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by a son, William Homer Hobbs, a daughter Marjorie Kerber and two brothers, Myron Brooks and Willard Brooks.

Mrs. Marti was a member of the Adams United Methodist Church. She enjoyed a full happy life making quilts, traveling, reading, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, writing letters, gardening and many other things to keep busy.
