The graveside service for Elmer C. Dana, 91, of Russell, will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 9:30 AM at the South Russell Cemetery.

Elmer died on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital after being admitted on June 18.

There will be no calling hours. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Russell United Methodist Church or to the Russell Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Elmer is survived by a sister, Dorothy Marsh of Canton, and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his wife Marjorie Dana, by sons Keith and Fred Dana, a sister, Charlotte Webb, and by brothers Keith and Marvin Dana.

Elmer was born January 5, 1922 in Russell, the son of the late Alfred and Anna (Cobb) Dana. He served in the US Army from September 1942-November 1945.

He married Marjorie Duncan on January 26, 1946.

Elmer worked for International Talc and Clifton Mines and was the road supervisor for the town of Russell for many years.

Elmer enjoyed the outdoors, animals and hunting.
