Lake Bonaparte - Floyd LeRoy Bresett, 84, Lake Avenue, died Tuesday afternoon at his home while under the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

He was born in Gouverneur August 7, 1928 to Floyd and Pauline Teal Bresett. He was employed at Knowlton Brothers Paper Mill in Watertown for 42 ½ years. He retired in 1996.

He married Mina Belle Tyler Solon May 30, 1981 in Oswegatchie, NY. A marriage to Ida Belle Clement ended in divorce.

He was an active member  of the Harrisville Fire Department for 37 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and stock car racing. He enjoyed the Woodsmans Field Days in Boonville and Flywheel and Pulleys in Constableville.

He is survived by four children, Bonnie and Larry Davis, Lafargeville, Juanita and Kenneth Noone, Philadelphia, Timothy and Nora, Lafargeville and Donald and his companion, Tina Archer, Evans Mills.

He has five step-children, Frank and Susan Solon, Wisconsin, Lawrence Solon Jr, Oswegatchie, Dennis and Marry Solon, Edwards, Walter Solon, Bernhards Bay and Mike Solon, Russell.

He has three siblings, Claire Clement, Gouverneur, Allen Bresett, Mexico, and Donna and Tim Weaver, Gouverneur. He has several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Friday April 5th from 4-8 PM at the Adirondack Funeral Home, Harrisville. A graveside service will take place in the Spring in the Harrisville Cemetery.
