West Carthage – Francis Babcock, 64, 258 Champion St., #502, died Saturday, June 15 at his home.

Born in West Carthage, on May 2, 1949, the son of Edward Babcock and Marie Mainville. He graduated from Carthage High School and served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a laborer in various positions before retiring due to disability.

He married Alice Coughlin on August 10, 1974 at the Methodist Church in Carthage. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan who enjoyed car models and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Alice and his sons Michael Babcock, Plessis, Francis Babcock, LaFargeville, Cory Babcock, Carthage; his step-daughter Dawn Coughlin Handmacher, San Diego, California and 10 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21st at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with his son Michael officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from1:00 – 3:00 PM.
