Frederick J. Petroske, 61, Chaumont, passed away Saturday at his home while under the care of his family.

Mr. Petroske was born May 24, 1952 in Watertown, a son of John B. and Alice Orman Petroske. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1970 and was a member of the United States Army Reserves.

On August 19, 1972, he married Paula Barcomb at St. Anthony’s Church with Msgr. Anthony Milia officiating.

As a teenager he enjoyed model car racing which lead to his interest of cars as an adult.  Forty years ago he started his own business restoring  European vehicles. This continues to operate as Mostly British, a restoration and parts shop for antique European vehicles in Chaumont, NY.

Mr. Petroske was a former member of Ives Hill Country Club, most recently a member of Bay Breeze Golf Club and a member of the Crescent Yacht Club. He loved power boats and sailing. He also enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the 700 club.  He was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.

Surviving besides his wife are four daughters; Stephanie Petroske and her husband David Middlestate, Suzanne Petroske, all of Chaumont, Samantha and Dominik Issler, Switzerland, and Synthia Petroske and her fiancé Brett Goodman, Chaumont, five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday 3-7 pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 9:15 am at the funeral home with a 10 am funeral mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Reverend Jonas Tandayu officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wellesley Island, NY.
