Glen E. Bowman, 80, of GouverneurGOUVERNEUR – Glen E. Bowman, 80, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur. Glen was born July 1, 1932 in Williamsburg, Ontario, Canada, the son of Mahlon and Hilda Duval Bowman. Glen attended schools in Richville and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Glen married Ethel B. Thomson on August 29, 1953 in Gouverneur. He drove tractor trailer for nearly 50 years for Gouverneur Trucking Company and Alaskan Oil Company of Syracuse, retiring in 2002. Glen was a life member of the Gouverneur VFW and the Old Time Truckers. He was a collector of classic and antique cars and enjoyed working on cars, hunting, and fishing. Glen is survived by his wife Ethel, two sons, Robert Bowman and Randy Bowman, both of Gouvernur, a daughter, Vicky and Stanley Mott of Gouverneur, two sisters, Eunice O'Neil of Iroquois, Ontario, Darla Bowman of Brockville, Ontario, nieces and nephews. Glen is also survived by seven grandchildren, Greg Robb, Lindsay and Matt Shortway, Austin Curcuruto, Jack Mott, Kylie Bowman, Kierra Bowman, Abigail Mott, and a great granddaughter, Anna Shortway. He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Raymond and Dale Bowman. There are no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
