Funeral service for Glendon Moncrief, age 79, formerly of Riverview Towers and Pray Road, will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Frary Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.

Calling hours will be held from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral. Burial will take place at Lisbon Cemetery following the services.

Mr. Moncrief passed away Friday, May 3, at Riverledge Nursing Home surrounded by his wife.

Mr. Moncrief is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Homer and Dale; two daughters, Martha Lawrence and Doreen Beaulieu, all of Ogdensburg, stepchildren, April Brothers of Rensselaer Falls, Mark Addison of North Carolina, Allan Addison, and eight step grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sisters, Lula Poore, of Ogdensburg, and Elsie Poore, of DePeyster; one brother, Dean Moncrief of Central Square; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Morley, of Ogdensburg.

Mr. Moncrief was predeceased by a son, Eric; two brothers, George and John Moncrief; and one sister, Alta Moncrief.

Mr. Moncrief was born in Lisbon, NY on December 2, 1933 the son of Homer and Pearl Alt Moncrief. He attended local schools.

He first married Muriel Murphy August 4, 1954. She predeceased him on September 2, 1987. He then married Jacqueline Blackmer on August 7, 1998. She predeceased him on March 7, 2003. He married Jean Fraser on October 16, 2009.

Mr. Moncrief was retired from New York State Department of Transportation where he was a paver operator for 39 years.

He enjoyed country music and the social gatherings at Centennial Towers.
