Hazel I. Overton, 84, of the Overton Road, died Friday afternoon at the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. The funeral service will be 11:00am Tuesday at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Adams Center. Calling hours will be 4:00-8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Born September 2, 1929 in Sandy Creek, daughter of Arthur and Margaret Haig Nutting, she graduated from Sandy Creek High School. She married Stanley F. Overton on January 12, 1947 at the Sandy Creek Methodist Church with Rev. Herbert Harrison officiating. The couple lived and farmed in Worth all of their married lives. Mr. Overton, former Town of Worth Supervisor from 1959-2007, died July 13, 2010. 
Mrs. Overton also worked at the Crescent Corset Company, Adams from 1966-1975, the former Lally Manufacturing Co., Adams, from 1976-1979, and Northland Electric, Watertown from 1979 until her retirement in 1992.
She is survived by four sons, Gordon B. (Mary), Lorraine, Fredrick S. (Cindy), Worth, Craig A. (Connie), Worth, David M. (Debbie), Worth; four daughters, Jeanne L. (Kenneth) Aubrey, Lorraine, Virginia M. (James) Wheeler, Worth,  Linda C. (David) Chapman, Worth, Kathy E. (Ronnie) Pearson, Worth; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, one great great grand daughter, one sister, Jean Poissant, one brother Fred Ouderkirk, and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two brothers, Larry Miester, Robert Nutting; five sisters, Marjorie Favre, Mildred McGinn, Charlotte Cirbus, Marguerite Nutting, Helen Hoffman; and several half brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Overton enjoyed knitting, sewing, watching birds, playing cards and especially having coffee with her family and friends every evening at 7:00pm and being surrounded by her close-knit family.
