Hester B. Green, 81, of Orchard Dr, Watertown, NY and formerly of Bronx, NY died Monday evening under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County, at the home of her daughter and son in law Denise and Henry Wallace, Jr.

Mrs. Green was born August 28, 1930 in Charleston, SC to William and Hester E. (Singleton) Ladson. She graduated from High School in 1950 and Roper State University and became an LPN working for the NYS Home for the Aging in New York City. Mrs. Green retired in 1981  She married George S. Green November 25, 1960. Mr. Green died June 22, 1995. Mrs. Green was an Assistant Pastor at Bright Temple AME Church in New York and attended the Gates of Goodness and Mercy Church in Watertown. She received a Congressional Achievement Award in 1992 from Congressman Floyd H. Flake for her work ministering to soldiers during Desert Storm.

Surviving are a daughter and son in law Denise and Henry Wallace, Jr., Watertown,NY, a sister Helen Bunche, Bronx, NY. Two sisters Jessie McFadden and Dorothy McLaurin and a brother William Ladson, Jr. died before her.

The Funeral Service will be held May 15, 2012, 1pm at the Calverton Cemetery, Calverton, Long Island, NY. Local calling hours are private.
