Howard operated the family farm with his wife Verna for many years. He also belonged to many farming organizations and was very active in community services throughout his life.

His love of music was evident in his many years of entertaining folks with his accordion and harmonica skills, but his true musical passion was waltzing with his “one and only” dance partner Verna. He had a special twinkle when it came to his family, and truly enjoyed every moment spent visiting with everyone.
