THERESA, NY - James B. Vock, 85, of Main Street, died Sunday evening at Hospice of Jefferson County, Ellis Farm, Watertown.

Born January 26, 1929 in Theresa, son of James Clifton and Lillie Erickson Vock, he attended Theresa schools and graduated from Mount Hermon Prep School in Northfield, MA in 1946. He married Marion Sullivan on February 11, 1950. That marriage ended in divorce. He later married Marlene Horning on January 10, 1971 in Mannsville, NY.

Jim was a truck driver for Young’s Express from 1946 to 1967, when he bought his own truck and became an owner/operator for Busler & Huddleston, Theresa until 1981 when he started James B. Vock, Inc.  Petroleum, Theresa. Jim retired in 2010.

Jim was a past member of the Antwerp Rotary Club, the Gouverneur Elks Club, a trustee of the Theresa Presbyterian Church, and the Theresa Planning Board.

He is survived by his wife Marlene, three sons, Daniel J. and wife Judy, Joseph W. and wife Janice, and James R., all of Theresa, three daughters, Lynda J. Golden, Indianapolis, IN, Mrs. Patrick (Colleen) Fulton, Redwood, and Kelly Meyer, Mexico, NY, two brothers, Edwin of Theresa and Richard of Redwood, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Sturge and Eleanor Audlin.

Calling hours will be Thursday, from 5-8pm at the Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11am at the Theresa Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Robert Vrooman, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa.
