James H. Rogers, 73, of Three Mile Bay, NY, and Zephyrhills, Florida, departed to be with the lord on June 5, 2013 at the Heartland of Zepherhills Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.

The son of Fordyce R. and Doris (McAlister) Rogers, he resided most of his life in Three Mile Bay. A 1957 graduate of Lyme Central School and the Watertown School of Commerce, Jim was employed for approximately 25 years as an accountant and sales representative for the J.R. Miller Clothing Company in Watertown.

He was also employed as a bus driver for the General Brown school district until his retirement in 2005.

During the water rafting season, Jim was a transporter for "White Water Challengers" in Dexter, NY.

Mr. Rogers was a quiet man of integrity who shared his wisdom, talents and advice with family, friends and neighbors alike. An avid sailor, he shared this passion as well as other water craft activities at his Pillar Point cottage with his extended family of nieces and nephews.

Jim was a devoted member of the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and church treasurer for a number of years.

The funeral and memorial service will be officiated there on June 29 at 11 a.m. by Pastor Douglas King. A brief time of fellowship with Mr. Rogers' family will be offered in the hour prior to his funeral.

Burial will be in Three Mile Bay Cemetery.

Survivors include his sisters, Georganna Petroski and Nancy (Lyle) Weaver; nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents predeceased him.

In lieu of flowers, donationations may be made in Jim's name to the THree Mile Bay Baptist Church.
