Joseph Conrad Guilbert, 76, of MassenaMassena - Joseph Conrad Guilbert, 76, of Massena, NY died at his home under the care of his wife, and Hospice of St.Lawrence Valley.
Conrad is survived by his loving wife Marie F. (Phelix) Guilbert of 56 years, married March 2, 1957 at the Church of the Sacred Heart by Rev. Bernard Kellogg. Together they have four children, David Joseph & his partner Mary Mack Ogdensburg, Kevin Conrad & Mary, Massena, Maria JoAnn and Paul Haley Morrisonville, NY and Anita LeAnn Scott and companion Mario Salazar, Massena, NY, two sisters Louise and Bob Fowler, Massena and Rita Guilbert of Las Vegas, Nevada, a brother-in-law Joseph Carbone and a sister-in-law Nancy Guilbert, Massena. Joseph Conrad was predeceased by his parents, Real and Aline Marion Guilbert, and five sisters Claire & Glenn Premo, Janine E. Falvo, Theresa S. and Ralph J. Sharp, Lucille and Robert Grinstead and Annette Carbone, also two brothers, Joseph R. "Reginald" & his wife "Pat" Patricia Eileen (Ventham) Guilbert and Joseph A. "Julian" Guilbert and a son-in-law David R. Scott, Massena, NY. Conrad is survived by 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Hye Chong Yi and Stephan Vachon, Judea & Jason Lynch, Kevin Guilbert , Christa and Andrew Haley, Zachery & Stacey LeClair, Joshua and Ciara Truax and Larissa Scott, and Jeneanne, great Grandchildren Ava, Indigo Lynch, and Tristin and Corbin. Being a "Grandpa" Guilbert was the "JOY" of his life. He spent many hours playing games: T-Ball, Bus Driver, BINGO, jigsaw puzzles, lawn croquet, frog catcher, go-kart and his all time favorite pumpkin carving, the list goes on & on. Joseph Conrad is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was an avid boater & fisherman. He brought fun to the St. Lawrence River to all who rode with him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Church of Sacred Heart in Massena with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will be held in the spring at Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family may be received on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St. Massena, the American Legion Post #74 will meet at the funeral home at 7:15 on Wednesday.
