MASSENA – Mrs. Kathleen G. Palmer, 95, formerly of 19 Talcott Street, passed away early Monday morning, July 16, 2012 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford, New Hampshire, where she had been a resident since July 9, 2012.
 
She was born August 6, 1916 in Bangor, New York, the daughter of Ernest and Blanche Jessmer Manchester.  On January 25, 1937, she married Reginald F. Palmer in St. Regis Falls.  He predeceased her on April 4, 1999.
 
Kathleen was a homemaker and dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in Massena.  She was also in the Rebekah’s Order of the Odd Fellows for many years, first with the Massena Lodge until its closure and transfer to the Eureka Lodge #129 in Ogdensburg.   She enjoyed reading and playing cards.  After the death of her daughter, Carol; she moved to New Hampshire to be closer to her grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.  She truly enjoyed “keeping up” with their lives.
 
Kathleen is survived by her three grandchildren, twins, Stephen Palmer of East Hampton, CT, Laurie and David Flanders of Weare, NH; and Janet Poulin of Manchester, NH; six great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  She is also survived by her sister, Irene Gray of Ignacio, CO; her brothers, Stanley Manchester of West Bangor; Mark and Patricia Manchester of Fort Covington; and Kendrick and Dorothy Manchester of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
 
She was predeceased by two daughters, Elaine Irene Palmer in infancy on December 23, 1946 and Carol Ann Palmer on November 13, 2010; two brothers, Wallace and Morton Manchester; and two sisters, Evelyn Woods and Harriet Hurteau.
 
There will be no prior calling hours.  A graveside service will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery, Dickinson Center with Pastor Sheila Nichols, officiating.
 
Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to the Rebekah Eureka Lodge #129, c/o Bernard and Melinda Pitts, 6 Dana Street, Massena, NY  13662.
